AND I THOUGHT I WAS FREE

You don't have to know me much to know that I don't like summer. Heat, sweat, hot wind, strong sun ... all this added to my low blood pressure and headaches are the perfect account for me to be in a bad mood and feeling sick for 4 months.

Then I came here.

Joy! I felt very cold when it was 15 degrees. Happiness! The winter average was 5 degrees. Wonderful! We had negative temperatures for just over 2 weeks! That meant no low blood pressure and no headache, I felt great! Cold, but well! There is no such thing as a snap because the pressure has dropped, or a headache because the day is very clear and the sun is very strong… nothing like that! I was alert, I was light, no feeling of fainting !!!

But, all good things come to an end... right?

Temperatures have risen and are already reaching 30 degrees. And before you ask me if 30 degrees is too hot and if I've forgotten what heat is, calm your fire. I will explain.

First of all: one of the big changes that most impacted me was leaving the side of the sea and coming to the continent. This means that I left a very humid city and came to a very dry city. VERY dry! With that, the way of feeling the heat and the cold changes. And I'm not used to dry heat.

Second of all: The heat here, in addition to being dry, is heavy. That's because the region of Alsace is located between two great mountain ranges (I don't know if I can tell if they are mountain ranges or mountains, I don't think so) and in a small valley (people, SOS geographers!). What matters, is that due to geographical conditions, it doesn't sell much.

Third of all: Because of this wonderful geography, the summer here is the warmest in France. And winter, the coldest. See that we had temperatures of -10 ° C in winter. And I was told it goes over 40 ° C in the summer.

What's wrong with all this?
In the winter, none.
In the summer, EVERYTHING!

That's because in the winter we have the wonderful heaters, which keep us warm and alive.
But in the summer, THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! They stay for 3, 4 weeks SUFFERING, PASSING EVIL, OLD PEOPLE DYING in a 40 degree heat without rain, without wind, in dry weather, and NO ONE puts air conditioning on the environments !!!!

I swear I don't accept this. Because I am SURE that if we had 3 weeks of negative temperatures, our houses would already be adapted to receive this cold. But here, people suffer from this heat, in stoic resignation that it hurts to see! And there are also few that have a fan just to spin the air.

I cannot generalize, although there are few, there are air-conditioned stores, and it is always a relief to enter them. But I tell you that most places have no air, and when you enter, sometimes the store is hotter than on the street. It is a horrible feeling, because you often have low blood pressure thinking you are going to pass out at any moment.

I have heard many people say that they do not have air conditioning because they do not like the air provided, because it causes illness, because they feel suffocated, etc., etc., etc. I do not take credit for the discussion because honestly I am not the one to change someone else's thinking, and I do not argue with people who prefer to suffer (read this sentence in a very dramatic tone!).

As I said in the previous post, my apartment is VERY hot and hardly sells anything, so last week, after a weekend lying under pressure, I bought a fan and look, life changes! I'm sleeping better and even the neighbor came at the end of the day to stay in a cooler environment (and talk).

I don't know how to reduce this horrible feeling of being in an oven baking to serve lunch for the Bad Thing, I accept tips! I accept many tips !!

I accept prayers too, so that summer will come softly and be kind to me !!

Thank you, à bientôt e, Perdoe o Meu Francês!
