CONTINUING TO COMPLAIN

REMEMBER THAT post where I talked about spring? That it was all beautiful, and flowers, and green leaves, and mild weather and happiness? Well, we have a problem ...

Spring continues to be all of beauty and poetry and a willingness to live, and before you worry, nothing has changed. The leaves continue to grow green and beautiful, the flowers continue to bloom (albeit in smaller quantities) and exhale their scent, the air remains light and I continue to sing Sandy and Júnior. Nothing changed.

However, I, an innocent and inexperienced young woman from European springs, did not pay attention to the maximum detail of a spring. Detail that we, Brazilians, Santos, do not pay attention to because it is simply not our reality. But this detail, so obvious from the springs, came and took away my peace.

“Giovanna, you are very dramatic. Tell me what it is!”

Pollen.
Do you know?
Well, I'll say it again:
P-O-L-L-E-N

Do you know when we are in the fourth grade and learn that the bees and hummingbirds go to the little flower, recover the pollen from that little flower and take it to another little flower and pollinate it, causing the flower to generate more little flowers and so on? So, we also learned that this pollen is also blown away by the wind and reaches other, more distant florets…

And that is the problem.
Pollen is blown away.

I will explain: Strasbourg is, together with Berlin, the city with the most trees per inhabitant in Europe. And all these trees bloom, and their pollens travel with the wind over long distances until they arrive ... at my home! And enter through my window and stick to the glass, the heater, the floor, the screen of my cell phone and my shoes:

Are you seeing this? It's not dust ... it's POLLEN!

At the beginning of spring, I would come home and feel the dusty floor… I cleaned it every day until after a moment, I saw that this dust was not dirt from the street, the dust was yellowish green. The dust was pollen. Then I realized that the day I went out and left the window closed, when I returned home I was not dirty. But any crack I left open… it was a party on my floor!

That's because the pollen is very thin… I think we can compare it to the sand on the beach… and if you live close to the beach, you know how it is… open window is synonymous with sand storms in the apartment, and it is very difficult to remove!

My problem is that: if I seal the apartment so it doesn't get dirty, I die without air and baked. That's because I live in a kitnet (living-room, studio, if you prefer ...) on the roof of the building. And here with the slightest hint of sun and temperatures above 25 degrees is synonymous with unbearable heat, it is impossible to seal. So, I have to clean my apartment twice a day to be able to live in peace. I have to live with pollen.

Now the fashion is being a kind of "feather" in the air ... I swear I don't know the name, but it looks like a dandelion was blown and its little parts got together and are flying through the air, and they come into EVERYTHING ! At your house, in your glass, on your nose ... I still don't understand where they come from and what is their importance in nature, because so far it has only made my life difficult to clean the floor.

It was clear, it was obvious that spring would not be perfect ... it was all too good to be true! 🙁

Drama aside (which is good for you to get used to me 😉), I have seen people who are allergic to pollen and poor things ... it's three months sneezing!

But nature must continue on its way to stay alive, and as for me, I let the whole day be spring, so that each day is a new bloom 🙂 <3
